A fire caused by an overheated compressor
was controlled by fire sprinklers at the Fiskar’s
manufacturing plant on Stewart Avenue in Wausau.
Wausau Fire Captain Tom Leslie said, “The
first firefighters that arrived saw smoke showing from
different parts of the building, so they went in and one
sprinkler was activated.”
Nobody was working at the plant at the time
of the fire and other than some water and smoke damage; the
company didn’t
experience much loss from the fire.
