Firefighters from the Green Bay Fire
Department responded to a two-alarm fire at a warehouse
owned by K&K Warehousing
around 4:20 p.m. on March 3. According to the fire department,
the fire was caused by sparks coming from a metal wire attached
to a bale of paper that scraped on the concrete floor while
being pushed by a forklift.
The sprinkler system helped keep the fire controlled until
fire crews arrived, and the blaze was confined to the immediate
area.
Damages resulted in $300,000 in contents
and $10,000 to the structure. No one was injured in the fire.
