March 3 , 2006
k&K warehousing, green bay

Firefighters from the Green Bay Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire at a warehouse owned by K&K Warehousing around 4:20 p.m. on March 3. According to the fire department, the fire was caused by sparks coming from a metal wire attached to a bale of paper that scraped on the concrete floor while being pushed by a forklift.

The sprinkler system helped keep the fire controlled until fire crews arrived, and the blaze was confined to the immediate area.

Damages resulted in $300,000 in contents and $10,000 to the structure. No one was injured in the fire.
