Subzero Freezer Warehouse
Madison

Firefighters responded to an alarm at the Subzero Freezer Company to find a blaze about 300 feet inside the 300,000-square-foot warehouse.

Warehouse fires can spread quickly because of the large open areas. However, sprinklers deployed in conjunction with the alarm and helped to keep the fire under control. The cause of the fire is undetermined.

"Firefighters were aided by the sprinkler system in what could have been a big, spreading fire," said Lori Wirth, fire department spokesperson.

Most of the firefighters' efforts were spent clearing the smoke in the warehouse and office area, according to Wirth. All employees evacuated and nobody was hurt.
